The 2027 All-Star Game host city has been announced
The NBA announced Thursday that the 2027 All-Star Game will be hosted by the Phoenix Suns, providing owner Mat Ishbia with a high-profile event for the city approximately one year after his acquisition of the franchise.
This marks Phoenix's fourth time hosting the All-Star game, with previous occurrences in 1975, 1995, and 2009."We think it's one of the best basketball cities in the whole country, We're excited for everyone to come, make it the hub for that weekend, and hopefully make it the most memorable All-Star weekend of all time," Ishbia said.
In December 2022, Ishbia agreed to acquire the Suns and the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury from Robert Sarver for approximately $4 billion. He officially assumed control a few months later. During his initial days of ownership, Ishbia greenlit a major trade to acquire Kevin Durant, garnering popularity among fans with his lavish spending approach.
The 2025 All-Star Game is scheduled for San Francisco, followed by the 2026 game in Inglewood, California. Additionally, Phoenix will host the WNBA All-Star game this summer.
