Charles Barkley issues a major statement regarding this NBA team
Charles Barkley hasn't wavered in his prediction that the Boston Celtics will win the 2024 NBA Finals. He reiterated this stance on Thursday, ahead of their game against the reigning champion Denver Nuggets. Barkley not only reaffirmed his belief in the Celtics' potential to clinch their first championship since 2008 but also emphasized that failing to do so would be a significant letdown for the organization.
"If [the Celtics] don't win a championship this year, it would be a total gag job, They've got everything. You've got [Jaylen] Brown and [Jayson] Tatum, you've got two of the 10 best players in the league, probably. You've got a great leader in Jrue Holiday. I will be shocked if the Celtics don't win."
Barkley praised Kristaps Porzingis as one of the league's top third options, suggesting the idea of him coming off the bench, and also complimented Derrick White.
Boston leads the Eastern Conference with a 48–13 record, holding an eight-game advantage over the second-place Milwaukee Bucks. Despite finishing last season as the top seed, they were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the Miami Heat.
