Following the Kings' 131-129 victory over the Spurs on Thursday night, here are Fox's thoughts on his teammate Malik Monk:

"I don't even think it should be close honestly, think he's long and away the front runner for Sixth Man of the Year."

Monk contributed significantly off the bench, tallying 18 points, 9 assists, and 7 rebounds in just 30 minutes. His crucial three-point shot in the final moments tied the game, setting the stage for a thrilling comeback win for Sacramento in front of their home crowd.

The Kings have leaned on Monk for consistent offensive contributions alongside Fox and Sabonis. In all 61 games this season, he's averaged 15.6 points and 5.3 assists off the bench, shooting 44.9% from the field and 37.4% from three-point range.

After finishing fifth in Sixth Man of the Year voting last season, Monk has stepped up his game, helping the Kings stay in contention for a top-six spot in the Western Conference.

Monk leads the league in total bench points with 951, surpassing the closest competitor, Bobby Portis of the Milwaukee Bucks, according to StatMuse.

With his standout performance, Monk is a strong contender for the 2023-24 NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award.
