Traded to the Suns in June, Beal emerges as their emotional anchor. The 30-year-old guard sealed the deal with two crucial steals in the final minutes of the Suns' narrow 108-107 triumph over the Sacramento Kings, notably stripping De'Aaron Fox to secure the win.

Following the game's conclusion, Beal exuded celebration and positivity in a postgame interview with Arizona's Family Sports reporter Amanda Pflugrad. Via Arizona's Family 3TV:

''It's time,'' Beal said. ''It's time to start playing defense, it's time to execute and take care of the ball on offense. It's time, man. We want to win a ring.''

Beal, originally a shooting guard, has transitioned into the role of the team's primary point guard over the past month.

Despite being a three-time All-Star in 2020-21 known for his scoring prowess, averaging 31.3 points, Beal has adapted his role alongside Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, fully embracing the change.

''I embrace it, man, because it's bringing us a winning culture, getting a paint presence every time down the floor, getting us organized,'' Beal previously said after a practice. ''Make sure we have a good flow, continuity within the game. I've embraced it. It's been a challenge, obviously, I have a ‘score-first' mentality, and it's probably some shots I pass up, just trying to be cognizant of being in that role. It's fun playing a position. It allows me to defend a lot of the teams' best players I'd never guard, which is something I take pride in too. It's something I like. I enjoy it.''

Beal concluded the game with 20 points, shooting 9-of-13 from the field, securing nine rebounds, providing four assists, blocking one shot, and making two steals. Each steal proved crucial in keeping the Suns competitive in a match that appeared out of reach until the last minute.

Phoenix stands on the brink of escaping the NBA play-in round after their narrow 108-107 victory against the Kings secured them at least the No. 7 seed. If they secure a win against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday and the New Orleans Pelicans, currently holding the No. 6 seed in the West, lose to the Los Angeles Lakers, the Suns will claim the No. 6 seed. The critical matchup is scheduled for Sunday at 12:30 p.m. and will be broadcasted by Arizona's Family.
