Kobe Bryant gifted his father a replica NBA championship ring commemorating his title with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2000, and since then, the hardware has been sold for just under $1 million.
Throughout the years, there have been rumors of bad blood between Kobe and his parents. Unfortunately, these rumblings were amplified this past week when it was revealed that Kobe's championship ring had hit the auction block. Joe Bryant, Kobe's father, had brought the ring to Goldin Auctions. For some fans, this was the ultimate form of betrayal. However, as Clutch Points explains, the championship ring was actually consigned by Joe Bryant in 2013.According to Sportico, Kobe Bryant's replica 2000 championship ring sold for a grand total of $927,200 USD. Overall, this is the most anyone has ever paid for a basketball championship ring. The fact that the ring was a replica makes this all that more special. Had it been the original that Bryant kept for himself, you can only imagine just how much this would have cost.

The buyer of the ring has chosen to remain anonymous. However, he must be extremely rich to be able to afford a ring of this price. Ever since Bryant's tragic passing in 2020, fans and collectors have been on the hunt for Kobe-related memorabilia. After all, he is one of the greatest players in the history of the game.
Hopefully, the ring continues to be taken care of with the utmost respect. After all, Bryant is a legend of the game, and it is what he deserves. Only time will tell if the buyer decides to sell it again at a higher price. One can just imagine how much this will be worth, years down the line.
