Kevin Durant Claps Back at Charles Barkley
Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns offered a concise yet unequivocal reaction to recent remarks made by NBA legend Charles Barkley questioning his leadership abilities on the court. Barkley labeled Durant as a "follower" rather than a leader, but Durant appears unfazed by external critiques.
"I just feel like a lot of people that's on TV that don't ever come to the gym, don't ever come to games, it's hard for them to speak on what I do, they're not in here It's just part of TV. They needed something to fill a segment up, so they talk about some negative s---. But if you're not in the gym, I don't respect your opinion if you're not in the gym with me."
Durant stated, as reported by Duane Rankin of AZ Central.
During truTV's alternate broadcast of the All-Star Game on Sunday, Barkley expressed his belief that guard Devin Booker has assumed the leadership role for the Suns this season, citing Durant's perceived lack of assertiveness. The Suns currently boast a 33–22 record, placing them fifth in the Western Conference standings. They are scheduled to face the Dallas Mavericks at the American Airlines Center on Thursday.
