LeBron James will be absent from the Los Angeles Lakers' first game following the All-Star break against the Golden State Warriors, as reported by The Athletic's Shams Charania. The absence is due to an ankle injury James sustained last month, marking his eighth missed game of the season.

Despite participating in the 2024 All-Star Game for just 14 minutes, James opted to sit out the Lakers' final game before the break on February 14. In James's absence this season, the Lakers have achieved a 4–3 record.

The anticipation was high for James's showdown against the Warriors, especially after reports emerged of the Warriors' interest in acquiring him before the trade deadline. However, James's agent, Rich Paul, has affirmed James's commitment to the Lakers amidst the trade rumors.
