Draymond Green Sparks Controversy Again with Nurkic
In the third quarter of Saturday night's game, Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic executed a hook shot over Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green, celebrating with floor slaps and a "too small" gesture. Minutes later, Green responded by backing Nurkic down, scoring, and mimicking Nurkic's floor slap.
"You can't be a nothing defender if you're going to do that, You probably outweigh me by 70 pounds and you get put in the rim? Got to be more careful," Green told Nurkic.
Golden State's narrow 113-112 victory marked their first meeting with Phoenix since December 12, when Draymond Green's suspension followed a head hit on Nurkic, sidelining him for 12 games. Among the conditions for Green's return was counseling and demonstrating behavioral improvement, criteria Nurkic believes Green has not met, as he mentioned after the game.
"It's sad. He didn't learn anything, Just a matter of time. He's going to hit somebody else again. Take back everything I said. He doesn't deserve a chance," Nurkic remarked.
