Sacramento Kings' Keegan Murray: Top Scorer in Victory
The Kings exacted their revenge. Last year, the Warriors ousted the Kings from the first round of the NBA Playoffs in a Game 7 showdown in Sacramento. Fast forward to this Wednesday, and the roles reversed: the Kings delivered a season-ending blow to Golden State on the same court.
In the Play-In game, the ninth-seeded Kings triumphed over the Warriors 118-94, propelling them to a second Play-In game against the eighth-seeded Pelicans on Friday. The tenth-seeded Warriors, meanwhile, saw their postseason hopes dashed.Keegan Murray was pivotal for Sacramento, particularly in the opening quarter where he notched 14 points. The second-year forward went on to tally 32 points, shooting 8-of-13 from beyond the arc, and added nine rebounds and two steals over 39 minutes.
Murray's remarkable performance, highlighted by eight three-pointers, played a key role in keeping the Kings ahead from start to finish and definitively dispatching the Warriors. This win paves the way for the Kings as they gear up to challenge the Pelicans in New Orleans, with both teams eyeing the coveted eighth playoff spot.
