The 2024 postseason's first game brought its first major injury blow. With just over three minutes left in the Play-In game for the Western Conference's No. 7 seed, and with the scores tied between the Pelicans and Lakers, Zion Williamson, who had just reached 40 points, winced in pain and signaled to the bench.
