The 76ers are likely to move on from Tobias Harris this offseason
Looks like Tobias Harris is gearing up to say goodbye to the Philadelphia 76ers. After wrapping up a hefty five-year, $180 million deal he inked back in 2019—the same offseason Philly decided to trade away Jimmy Butler—sources close to ESPN's Tim Bontemps say Harris is headed for free agency.
It's been a bit of a rocky road for Harris, especially coming off a disappointing playoff series against the New York Knicks. Averaging just 10.8 points per game and going scoreless in a crucial Game 6, he certainly didn't help his case. Remember, this is a guy who dropped 17 points per game during the regular season, but when the playoffs hit, he only managed 9.0 points on average.Philly fans have had their ups and downs with Harris, especially after the front office picked him over Butler—a move that still stings for many. Last game really highlighted the frustrations, with Harris failing to score in all 29 minutes he played. It's clear changes are on the horizon for the Sixers, and with Harris likely on his way out, it seems we're still very much in the middle of trusting the process. More moves are expected, so stay tuned Sixers fans.
