The Minnesota Timberwolves have officially upgraded center Luka Garza's contract from a two-way deal to a standard NBA contract, the team announced today. As per team policy, specific terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Measuring at 6 feet 10 inches, Garza has played 21 games for the Timberwolves this season. He's averaging 4.2 points, shooting 47.8% from the field and 30.0% from three-point range, alongside 1.2 rebounds in 5.2 minutes per game. Notably, he achieved a season-high 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting in just 9 minutes and 28 seconds of play against the Toronto Raptors on April 3rd.

Garza joined the Minnesota Timberwolves on August 23rd, 2022, initially under a standard contract before transitioning to a two-way deal on October 15th, 2022. He was appointed captain of Team Luka for the G League's inaugural Next Up Game in the 2022–23 season and secured the MVP title with 23 points and eight rebounds.

On July 3rd, 2023, Garza signed yet another two-way contract with the Timberwolves. Fast forward to April 4th, 2024, his contract underwent an upgrade to a standard NBA contract, enabling him to participate in the 2024 NBA playoffs for the Timberwolves. This decision followed his outstanding performance against the Toronto Raptors, where he recorded a season-high 16 points in just 9 minutes of gameplay.

Finally, on April 4th, 2024, Garza inked a standard contract with the Timberwolves.
