During the most recent episode of the "Pat Bev Podcast with Rone," Milwaukee Bucks' guard Patrick Beverley disclosed that he has a torn ligament in his right wrist.

''I got some disturbing news that I didn't really like,'' Beverley told co-host Adam Ferrone.

''I get a call. ‘Hey Pat, we'll give you news about the wrist after the game,''' Beverley continued. ''Mind you, today, I get X-rayed. I get MRI. I'm looking at my s—, like my s— hurt a little bit, but I'm cool. I'm going to take the necessary precautions. I'm going to be a pro. I'm going to get the MRI, the X-ray, all that. You know, just be a pro. After the game, I get in the room, six m———— in that room, I'm looking like, ‘What the f—?' Talk to the doctor, and they informed that I tore a ligament in my right wrist and I'm going to need it surgically repaired, which takes three to four months.''

By Wednesday afternoon, Beverley's status for Thursday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans was uncertain due to a right wrist sprain, not a torn ligament.

Beverley recounted on his podcast that he sustained the injury while attempting a dunk during his pregame routine before facing the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday. Despite the discomfort, he managed to play 15 minutes in Milwaukee's victory over the Thunder, contributing one point and four assists. However, he was sidelined on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Although the Bucks' medical staff recommended surgery, Beverley hinted at taking a break and playing through the pain.

Having appeared in 19 games (including two starts) for the Bucks since the trade deadline, the 35-year-old guard has averaged 5.1 points and 2.3 rebounds in 19.6 minutes per game, shooting 34 percent from beyond the arc.

Known as an "instigator" by Bucks coach Doc Rivers, Beverley's absence would be most felt defensively, where he's emerged as a vocal and spiritual leader for the team. While he contributes as a floor spacer and backup point guard on offense, his defensive prowess is his most significant asset.
