Klay Thompson notched 28 points, including six 3-pointers, while Jonathan Kuminga added 18 as the Golden State Warriors surged past the depleted Miami Heat 113-92 on Tuesday. Thompson's impressive performance has been consistent, with Coach Kerr keeping him in high usage roles due to his ongoing run of steady production.

Over the past 19 games, despite a controversial benching decision earlier, Thompson has averaged 18.6 points with stellar shooting percentages. Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins contributed 17 points each. Miami, missing key players like Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro, relied on Bam Adebayo's 24 points. Despite efforts from Haywood Highsmith and Terry Rozier, the Heat couldn't match the Warriors' dominance.

Thompson's resurgence, marked by his six 3-pointers, showcased his resilience amid past scrutiny and trade rumors.

''Hmm, this guy's trying to jinx me,» Thompson said when relayed his numbers. «I feel good. I'd like to repeat this performance tomorrow night in Orlando because these games are so crucial obviously.''

Chris Paul's milestone of 2,600 steals added to the Warriors' triumph. With this victory, the Warriors secured the 10th spot in the Western Conference playoff race, while the Heat remained seventh in the Eastern Conference. Miami's loss further hindered their pursuit of the sixth playoff spot.

The victory propelled the Warriors ahead of the Houston Rockets by one game for the 10th seed in the West, effectively giving them a two-game lead with the tiebreaker. Meanwhile, the Lakers narrowly secured a double-overtime win over the Bucks, maintaining a two-game lead over the Warriors.

Looking ahead to Wednesday, the Warriors will take on the resilient Magic in Orlando, while the Rockets will face the Thunder in Oklahoma City.
