Irving and Harden Swapped in Huge Trade Proposal

With less than two months remaining until the 2023/24 NBA season begins, time is running out for certain players to be traded. Stars like Damian Lillard have requested trades this offseason, as well as former MVP James Harden. In a recent trade proposal, the latter could be sent to Dallas in exchange for Kyrie Irving, who has also been rumored to potentially want a trade.

Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report proposed a trade scenario, suggesting that the Mavericks and 76ers could assist each other by exchanging their former teammates.

«What if the Sixers and Mavericks tried scratching the other's back in a one-for-one swap of scoring guards? It would certainly be an interesting plot twist in the Harden sweepstakes and the latest of many surprises in Irving's career,»

Despite only having a small sample size of 16 games, the partnership between Luka and Kyrie appeared to have been unsuccessful. With Kyrie looking to rejuvenate his elite form after a decline over the past four seasons, joining Embiid as the sole star guard on the Sixers' roster and being given more of a playmaking role similar to his early days in Cleveland, Irving may flourish.

As for James Harden, although he is reportedly looking to become the star player of an organization once more, he has demonstrated an ability to work well with other stars when paired in the backcourt with him. This was evident during his time in Houston, where he had to share ball-handling responsibilities with Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook.

It is unknown if any discussions are taking place between the two organizations regarding this possible trade, but on paper, it appears that both teams and both players could benefit from this potential deal.
