Draymond Green believes Victor Wembanyama deserves DPOY

Draymond Green was a bit skeptical previously, but now, he has decided that Victor Wembanyama is, indeed, the Defensive Player of the Year in the entire NBA.

Overall, Victor Wembanyama has been absolutely sensational this past season. In fact, just a few nights ago, he dropped 40 against the New York Knicks. It was a phenomenal performance that highlighted what this kid can do in the NBA. He is just a rookie, and he is already putting up wild stat lines. According to NBA.com, Wembanyama had nine blocks on Tuesday against the Denver Nuggets.

With Wembanyama providing some otherworldly statlines, he is now getting the praise of his peers. For instance, Draymond Green recently went on his show and said that Wemby should be crowned DPOY. Getting this award in your rookie season is practically unheard of, but if anyone deserves it, it would be Wembanyama.





Green noted that the one thing that goes against Wembanyama is his team's record. The San Antonio Spurs are one of the worst teams in the entire NBA right now. They have no shot at the postseason, and they will likely be on the lottery again. However, Wemby has made them fun to watch, and there is no doubt that he is a generational talent.
