Following his release by the Jazz today, forward Otto Porter Jr. has officially retired from the NBA, making the announcement.

"For the past 11 years, I had the chance to live my lifelong dream of playing in the NBA, That dream was capped by winning an NBA Championship! Unfortunately, my body is not allowing me to play at the level that I expect of myself, and I have therefore decided to retire."

Throughout his career spanning 11 seasons, Porter Jr., hailing from Morley, Mo., played for the Washington Wizards, Chicago Bulls, Orlando Magic, Golden State Warriors, and Toronto Raptors. Drafted third overall by the Wizards in 2013, he appeared in 527 games (319 starts), averaging 10.3 points and shooting 47.7 percent from the field and 39.7 percent from three, with 4.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.

Porter Jr. also contributed to Golden State's championship victory in 2022. In college, he had a standout career at Georgetown, earning various accolades including Consensus All-America First Team honors and the Big East Player of the Year title.
