Michael Jordan calls rookie Mark Williams

When you are drafted by the Hornets, you can expect one good thing to come out of the organization's history: a phone call from the GOAT, who immediately welcomed Williams with open arms, It was peppered with compliments, but as usual, there was a small jab at the end...haha, same old Jordan showing love.

As a sophomore, Mark Williams was named ACC All-Defensive Player of the Year by DUKE University. He had one of the best NCAA playoff bracket performances in DUKE basketball history.

Williams was drafted 48th overall by the Hornets on Thursday evening, and you could argue that they saw potential in his clutch playoff performances.


I believe Mark Williams was a smart pick for the Hornets, as their transitioning their game to a more defensive-minded system.
