Luka Doncic After Signing A Multi-Million Contract Extension With The Dallas Mavericks: "Today Is A Dream Come True"

We all knew that Luka Doncic was going to get a major payday from the Dallas Mavericks, something that would put most other NBA players' bank accounts to shame.

After months of speculation and rumors of strife within the Mavs organization, they offered Luka a five-year, $207 million contract extension. Surprising no one, Luka happily agreed.

At a press conference after the announcement, Luka made comments that suggested he was very, very happy to stay put in Dallas despite what any rumors were saying.




Obviously, Luka wasn't going to come out and bash the Mavs, especially after the signing. But his unbridled enthusiasm about the team suggests that he really does want to stay there for a while and hopes to win a championship with them.

This is great news for Dallas, who were terrified of becoming like the Portland Trail Blazers: a team with a bona fide NBA superstar who is supremely unhappy and looking to run off in the near future. Although the Mavericks haven't done much in free agency, they have retained Doncic for five more years and have seemingly made him very happy. Now they just need to bolster their roster and give him a chance to go all the way.
