Latest: Did the Minnesota Timberwolves overpay for Rudy Gobert?

Talks around the league are saying that the Timberwolves overpaid for C Rudy Gobert sending 4 first round picks, Patrick Beverley, Malik Beasley, Walker Kessler and Jarred Vanderbily. That is a big haul of players and picks.

In todays NBA, the big man is less valued because of their incapability of guarding the 3 and playing late minutes into the game. Rudy has shown he is a stellar defender around the rim, but has struggled guarding the 3 when the opponents go small.

In my opinion, I think Rudy is a great basketball player but not worth the contract he has been given. The wolves see it differently and have no problem paying both big man max contracts (over $200M).

Will it work though? I don't think so, sure it gives KAT more freedom on the offensive side, where the defence has to stay in the paint to cover Rudy but the real problem is on the defensive side of the ball. Can the wolves really defend with 2 7ft Centre's on the court at the same time. I guess we will have to wait and see.
