Scary news for Kyle Lowry upon his homecoming return

Kyle Lowry sustains a facial laceration and undergoes stitches during his debut with the Sixers. Prior to the injury, Lowry tallied four points on 2-for-3 shooting, along with two assists and one rebound in 9 minutes and 30 seconds of play.

Jericho Sims collided forcefully with Lowry, causing him to tumble onto the court. Despite no foul being called, the Sixers promptly called a timeout. Initially assessed on the bench, Lowry was later escorted to the locker room for further evaluation.

Lowry's injury briefly marred an otherwise solid evening for the North Philly native.

Entering the game at the 6:54 mark of the first quarter, the 18th-year veteran received a warm welcome from Sixers announcer Matt Cord, heralding his Sixers debut as a native of North Philly. Lowry swiftly made an impact, scoring his first basket as a Sixer with a layup just 36 seconds later. He followed up with another layup, contributing four points and an assist in the final 6:54 of the opening quarter.


Remaining on the court at the onset of the second quarter, Lowry assisted Tobias Harris' layup just 35 seconds into the quarter. However, he was forced to the bench following Sims' accidental elbow at the 9:24 mark.
