Devin Vassell, from the San Antonio Spurs, out all season
According to NBA insider Shams Charania, the San Antonio Spurs will be missing two key players, Jeremy Sochan and Devin Vassell, for their remaining seven regular-season games. With the team already out of playoff contention, this allows the duo to focus on offseason rehabilitation.
Vassell, absent from the Spurs' recent matchup against the Golden State Warriors, underwent an MRI on Monday, revealing a stress reaction in the third metatarsal head of his right foot. This season, Vassell achieved career-high statistics, averaging 19.5 points in 68 games, with 62 starts. Additionally, he secured 4.1 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game, boasting a field goal percentage of 47.2%, also a personal best.
Having not recorded a 30-point game in his initial three seasons, Vassell notched six such performances this season, including a season-high 36 points against the Lakers in December, breaking an 18-game losing streak—a franchise record. Moreover, his 166 3-pointers tie for the third-most in a single season in Spurs history.

The Spurs possess a youthful group of players poised to captivate fans in the upcoming season. Should both players return at full strength, and with Victor on their roster, the team may only require the addition of a significant free agent signing or a trade for a superstar to reignite the Spurs' dynasty, reminiscent of their prominence over the past decade.
