Scoot Henderson came through and delivered a massive performance for the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night that ultimately helped him break a longstanding rookie record for the franchise.
According to Clutch Points, Henderson had himself 19 points and 15 assists in a loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. In the history of the franchise, they had never had a rookie get up to 15 assists. It was clearly an impressive feat, especially when you consider how much Henderson has struggled over the past year. Since being drafted third overall, there have been times when Henderson has been referred to as a bust. However, this latest performance could very well put him on the map."PELICANS at TRAIL BLAZERS | FULL GAME HIGHLIGHTS | April 9, 2024"

Following the game, Henderson spoke to reporters about the game, and how he felt about it all. He understands that the team wants to build chemistry, and passing around the ball is a great way to do that. If Henderson continues to play this way, he could definitely become this team's franchise player for the next decade.
«My performance was solid. Trying to get guys the ball, and they hit shots. It's as simple as that. We're just trying to get our passes up as a team. We want a lot of passes as a team, so I'm just taking part in that and trying to get that pass rate.»
