Portland Trail Blazers Sign Former Suns Forward

Ish Wainright participated in 60 regular season games for the Phoenix Suns. During this time, he averaged 4.2 points and 2.3 rebounds per game while shooting 37.0% from the field and 32.9% from beyond the arc.

In addition to his regular season contributions, Wainright also played in six NBA playoff games, although the Suns ultimately fell to the Denver Nuggets in the second round, losing the series in six games.

However, Wainright's journey has taken a new turn, as the Phoenix Suns recently released him. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, Wainright is now set to join the Portland Trail Blazers.

His shooting percentages stand at 37.8% from the field and 32.8% from three-point range. In addition, he has gained playoff experience, participating in 13 NBA playoff games.


Where Does Portland's Roster Stand?

Regarding the Trail Blazers, their previous season saw them finish as the 13th seed in the Western Conference with a 33-49 record. Despite their roster's talent, spearheaded by All-Star Damian Lillard, they missed the NBA playoffs for the second consecutive year.

During the offseason, a significant three-team trade unfolded in which the Trail Blazers traded Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks, a blockbuster deal that also involved the Suns.



The Trail Blazers are set to kick off the 2023-24 season with their first game against the Los Angeles Clippers in California on October 25th.
