In the third quarter of Tuesday night's 104-91 victory against the Boston Celtics, two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo left the court due to a left calf injury. After Celtics guard Derrick White made a 3-pointer, Antetokounmpo collapsed without any contact while advancing up the court. Despite the timeout called by the Bucks, Antetokounmpo remained on the floor, and his teammates assisted him off the court and toward the locker room.

Antetokounmpo was advancing up the court after Celtics guard Derrick White made a 3-pointer when he suddenly fell to the floor, clutching his left leg, despite no contact. He stayed down as the Bucks called for a timeout, and his teammates assisted him off the court and towards the locker room. In the fourth quarter, Antetokounmpo was officially ruled out of the game with what the team diagnosed as a left soleus strain, a muscle located in the back part of the calf.

Antetokounmpo's future status remains uncertain. Bucks head coach Doc Rivers mentioned that Antetokounmpo will undergo an MRI on his left leg to assess the extent of the injury.

"[The concern level is] high, I would say that," Rivers said. "He's Giannis. I think everyone probably feels the same way as I do right now. So, we're just gonna hope for the best."

Antetokounmpo was listed on the injury report prior to Tuesday's game, initially starting the day as questionable with left hamstring tendinopathy before being upgraded to probable. He has missed three games since mid-March with the injury, including last Friday against the Toronto Raptors, and also sat out a game on March 4 due to left Achilles tendinitis. Tuesday marked just the fifth time in the last 30 games that the Bucks had Antetokounmpo, seven-time All-NBA guard Damian Lillard, and three-time All-Star forward Khris Middleton all available.

The Bucks entered Tuesday's game on a four-game losing streak, their longest since December 2022, but secured a much-needed victory, now holding a 1˝-game lead for the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference with a 48-31 record. Despite already clinching a playoff spot, their seeding remains undetermined. Following the win against the Celtics, they are now eyeing the postseason with a 1.5-game advantage over their closest competitors. The playoffs are set to commence on April 20, but the Bucks' opening series may not begin until April 21, depending on the schedule.
