Kristaps Porzingis has been the perfect addition to the Boston Celtics roster this season, and recently, he was able to come through and win an award that has helped the Celtics break a league record.
According to reporter Taylor Snow, Porzingis was the Eastern Conference Player of the Week on Monday. This makes him the fourth player on the Celtics to win the award this season. Interestingly enough, this is an NBA record. No team in the history of the NBA has ever had four player of the weeks in the same season. The other winners for the Celtics were Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Derrick White."The Celtics are the 1st team in NBA history to have 4 different players win Player of the Week in the same season. Jayson Tatum (Nov. 6). Jaylen Brown (March 4). Derrick White (March 25). Kristaps Porzingis (April 8)"
Heading into the Eastern Conference playoffs, the Celtics are first in the Eastern Conference. Furthermore, they are the prohibitive favorites to go to the NBA Finals out of the East. They made it to the Finals back in 2022, and now, they will have a great chance to go back. It will be on their stars to execute when the lights shine the brightest.
