Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro, sidelined since February 23, underwent a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection on Friday to address his right foot injury, sources disclosed to Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald. Chiang reported that Herro's condition will be reassessed in one to two weeks.

Chiang noted that Herro, 24, has been listed as out due to right foot medial tendinitis in recent weeks, alongside a previously hyperextended left knee, which has since healed. His current foot ailment is what continues to keep him sidelined.

While Herro's return isn't imminent, there's optimism that he could rejoin the Heat lineup before the regular season concludes, according to Chiang.

This season, Herro has been a regular starter for Miami when healthy, posting averages of 20.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.4 assists in 33.6 minutes per game across 36 appearances. His three-point shooting percentage matches his career high at 39.9%, with a career-high 8.1 three-point attempts per game.

Having missed last season's NBA Finals due to injury, Herro is eager to contribute to the Heat's postseason efforts this time around, even as the team remains competitive for a playoff berth. Currently tied for the No. 7 seed in the East with a 36-30 record, the Heat, along with the No. 8 Sixers, hold a comfortable 4.5-game lead over the No. 9 Bulls, while closely trailing the No. 6 Pacers (37-30).
