During Friday night's game between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Washington Wizards, Russell Westbrook fractured his left hand in the first half. Despite contributing six points and one assist in 10 minutes off the bench, Westbrook appeared to sustain the injury while attempting to deflect the ball away from Jordan Poole with 10:01 remaining in the second quarter. He left the game at the 8:10 mark and did not return. The Clippers ultimately won the game 140-115.

Here's what Coach Tyronn Lue had to say:

«I just feel bad for Russ right now,» Lue said. «You never want to see a player get hurt. I don't know if he needs surgery or anything yet, but he's out right now, so just trying to figure it out.»

Westbrook, who recently opted to come off the bench following the trade of his former teammate James Harden to the team, has been a significant contributor. His absence will undoubtedly be felt by his teammates, especially considering their successful streak since the change.
