As any NBA fan knows, Nikola Jokic is having another stellar season. For this season, he's averaging 26 points, 12.2 rebounds, and 9.1 assists. He has achieved 21 triple-doubles to date. With this, it is undeniable that he's in the MVP race, and he's even the favorite on most sportsbooks across the world. However, the NBA this year imposed a 65-game threshold minimum that players have to play to become eligible for the MVP Award. We noticed that former MVP Joel Embiid is not disqualified due to his injury. Good news for the Nuggets superstar, he just played his 65th game of the season versus the Spurs, which means he's closer than ever to his 3rd MVP Award.

Some might argue that Jayson Tatum should be MVP, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, or even Luka Doncic. However, the season is not over yet, so anything can happen. But Jokic is certainly the favorite, and his numbers speak for themselves. The Denver Nuggets are now the 1st seed in the Western Conference; they are 9-1 in their last 10 games, and Jokic is a big part of this success. It is hard to go against a team that is on fire, and their main player is performing at the highest level.

Regardless, the season is not over, so we cannot assume he will win MVP just yet. If he does, he will be part of an exclusive club with players such as Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Moses Malone, LeBron James, Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan, Bill Russell, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who had 3 MVPs or more in their careers.

More to come.
