Report: Hawks Starter Suffers Season-Ending Injury
The Hawks were dealt a blow today as Saddiq Bey, their forward, has been diagnosed with a season-ending torn ACL following his injury in the early fourth quarter of last night's game against the New Orleans Pelicans, as reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Last night, Hawks head coach Quin Snyder provided little information about Bey's condition, but now the Hawks must face the rest of the season without him. Bey, who will become a restricted free agent this summer, has been a key starter for most of the season, contributing significantly as a rebounder and providing floor-spacing capabilities.
His absence further compounds the Hawks' injury woes, with Trae Young, Onyeka Okongwu, Jalen Johnson, and rookie Kobe Bufkin all currently sidelined.
