NBA Analyst Brutally Disgraces Anthony Davis
Playing for the most prestigious franchise in the NBA certainly comes with numerous perks. However, it also carries a higher level of expectation compared to other teams. If you underperform, things can turn volatile swiftly. Anthony Davis is discovering this reality firsthand after his latest performance triggered a brutal attack from an NBA analyst.
Davis Poor FormThere's no denying that when Davis is in top form, he ranks among the top 10 players in the NBA. Few players match his effectiveness across various facets of the game, as evidenced during the Lakers' 2020 championship victory.
His blend of skills and experience was a significant reason behind the Lakers' consideration of Davis taking the lead from LeBron James. However, it seems the pressure has taken its toll, resulting in a troubling stretch of games for him.
Davis is currently enduring his lowest-scoring season since 2013-14, averaging just 21.5 points per game, placing him at the 30th spot in the league. While this might seem respectable, it falls significantly short of the high expectations set for him. What's more concerning is the trend worsening, with Davis scoring below 20 points in six out of his last nine appearances.
The culmination of these struggles reached a breaking point in the Lakers' 104-101 loss to the Mavericks, where the supposed linchpin for the Lakers managed a mere 10 points. This dismal performance led NBA analyst Skip Bayless to brutally call him out.
Skip Bayless Brutal Rant
Skip Bayless is widely known for his aggressive rants, particularly about Davis' teammate, LeBron James, which makes this news less surprising. However, what is genuinely surprising is the level of brutality he directed towards AD, whom he labeled as "Always Disappearing."
Even more startling is the accuracy of his critique. While being a professional analyst doesn't guarantee being always correct, many pundits often make bold but controversial or inaccurate statements. Yet, in this latest take, it's hard for anybody to disagree with Bayless's assessment.
«AD too often stands for Always Disappearing, and last night he disappeared in the 4th quarter. Again, you and I, and all of us have kicked this around and kicked him around on the show again and again and again. If you are that dude, you gotta demand the basketball, you gotta call for it, you gotta say, Remember me?»
You got to call for the ball on a Dallas defense that's ranked 24th. It should've been AD's turn to help take them home. https://t.co/wntcvXxP64— Skip Bayless (@RealSkipBayless) November 23, 2023
