Warriors' Star Player Attracts Interest from Mavericks and Pacers
At least two other NBA teams are expressing interest in Golden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Dallas Mavericks and Indiana Pacers are showing interest in the Canadian forward. Charania also mentioned that both teams have explored player-for-player swaps involving Wiggins with the Warriors. In the current season, Wiggins has been averaging 12.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game in 42 appearances for the Warriors.
His points, rebounds, and assists per game averages are the lowest they've been since his rookie year. It's worth noting that Wiggins was once an NBA All-Star and Rookie of the Year. Despite his decreased value this season, he still brings a defensive perspective that could benefit teams aiming for a deep playoff run.
The 28-year-old is in the first year of a four-year, $109 million contract that extends until the conclusion of the 2026-27 season.
