Breaking news as after several weeks of speculation the Houston Rockets have Finally traded away guard Kevin Porter Jr.

Kevin Porter Jr Facing Jail time

Porter Jr. is currently facing charges of second-degree strangulation and third-degree assault on his girlfriend. He has been removed from interacting with the Rockets squad for several weeks now. With ongoing charges, Porter Jr. could end up serving a maximum of 7 years in jail.


Thunder Waives Kevin Porter Jr

The Thunder have no intention of playing Porter Jr. and are allegedly waiving the guard immediately. Their reason for this trade was essentially to gather more draft capital for the ongoing rebuild.

The Thunder are acquiring a 2027 second via Minnesota and a 2028 second via Milwaukee in the deal, sources said. Porter Jr., is facing assault charges based on an incident with a girlfriend. Thunder will have to pay the $16.9M guaranteed left on Porter Jr., contract as they waive him. OKC gathered four second-round picks in acquiring and moving Oladipo's $9.5M expiring deal this offseason.
