Phoenix Suns to Trade For SHOCKING Warriors Star
As the trade deadline approaches, many teams are now in desperation, trying to make final adjustments to their rosters. With the Western Conference proving to be far more competitive than expected, the Phoenix Suns are emerging as one team looking to make a trade. They are rumored to be exploring proposals for a Golden State Warriors star.
Golden State Warriors StarWith the aforementioned high level of competition, alongside a struggling Warriors side, Golden State finds itself sitting 12th in the standings. With numerous ongoing issues this season, such as Klay Thompson's poor performances or Draymond Green's hints at retirement, the Warriors are far off their initial expectations for this season.
Now, with veteran guard Chris Paul out injured, it looks like the Warriors are on the brink of complete collapse, and certain rumors suggest that they are open to trading almost any player in hopes of saving their season.
The Suns are the most likely to capitalize on this opportunity with alleged interest in wing Andrew Wiggins. The one-time champion and All-Star are currently having his lowest-scoring season since his rookie year, with just 11.7 points per game and his lowest shooting percentage since joining the Warriors. This is not to say his season has been totally disastrous; however, he has stepped up his efforts defensively, especially during the time when Green was suspended.
These defensive talents are what the Suns will be looking for since they are currently lacking and have enough scoring capability from the big three of Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal, and Devin Booker.
Suns Trade Proposal
With the roster top-heavy, the Suns have few valuable trade assets to acquire a star of Wiggins' caliber. However, due to his poor shooting and the Warriors' dire need to make changes, they may be able to pull off a deal by sending away Jusuf Nurkic and Nassir Little.
Going back two seasons ago, this trade proposal would seem ridiculous; however, the recent improvement by Nurkic makes this deal much more plausible. He has so far averaged a double-double for the season with 12.4 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. Alongside this, he remains one of the best passing big men in the league and has shown off his playmaking abilities with 3.5 assists per game.
With the Warriors being massively undersized, adding a big man like Nurkic sounds ideal, as not only will it help improve the Warriors' rim protection and rebounding ability, but with his particular skillset, he is a great match to play with franchise star Stephen Curry, who is once again having a spectacular season.
