Steve Nash had an illustrious career spanning 18 seasons, highlighted by back-to-back MVP awards in the 2004/05 and 2005/06 seasons. He is better known for his time spent with the Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks. However, it would be the Los Angeles Lakers where Nash played his final NBA games.

Nash joined the Lakers in 2012, teaming up with Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard, and Ron Artest in one of the most famous failed "Superteams" ever assembled. There were many reasons for this failed roster, but the most notable was injury issues, including the injury that ultimately forced Nash to retire.

Current superstar Damian Lillard believes he may have been accidentally responsible for this injury and recalls the moment they clashed on the "BackOnFIGG" podcast.

The collision in question occurred during Lillard's rookie year when he matched up against Nash just two games into his NBA career. Here, the Portland Trailblazer claims to remember a clash of knees with the legend and reveals he felt bad, even though it was an accident.

«It was an accident though,» Lillard said. «We ran into each other, and I accidentally kneed him and ... I was like, 'Damn.'"

«I feel bad, bruh. But I think it ended up being a nerve thing where I kneed him,»
