Lakers eyeing a major PG NBA All-Star

The talk about Trae Young maybe joining the Los Angeles Lakers is still going strong, getting people talking in basketball circles.

The Lakers are still interested in Young, even though they've been looking at other top players like Damian Lillard, Kyle Lowry, and Kyrie Irving. An NBA expert, Jovan Buha, has shared that the Lakers are on the hunt for a new point guard, and Young is one of their interests.


Though D'Angelo Russell and Gabe Vincent are set as point guards, getting Young or Irving is something the Lakers are thinking about.


Buha's ideas match with Austin Reaves' standout time at the 2023 FIBA World Cup and his work with the Lakers recently. Even though Reaves is good at running the court, Young's experience could be a good fit.

Before, Buha had given a hint that the Lakers were interested in Trae Young.


Some sources are saying that the Lakers have talked about trading for Young this summer.

The whispers of Young's potential transition to the Lakers surfaced as D'Angelo Russell faced struggles in the playoffs following an impressive regular season. In contrast, Young's reputation took a dip after guiding the Hawks to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2021.

While averaging 26.2 points per game during the regular season, Young missed the cut for both the All-Star and All-NBA Teams. His shooting numbers were passable, landing at 42.9% from the field and 33.5% from beyond the three-point line. Conversations within the player community even marked Young as an overrated figure in the league.
