Huge Trade Offer Turned Down by Washington Wizards
The Minnesota Timberwolves are tied for the best record in the Western Conference. They are undoubtedly looking to improve even more with other competition looking to add at the February 8th trade deadline. Per NBA Central, they made a huge offer to the Washington Wizards for guard Tyus Jones.
The Timberwolves offers 4 second round picks to the Wizards in exchange for Jones. For a team that is rebuilding like the Wizards this is a huge amount of draft capital for a player that is only averaging 12.1 points per game, 2.9 rebounds and 6.3 assists. He does have a nice shooting percentage of 49.2%. He also currently has an ankle sprain and not sure when he will be able to return to the Wizards line up. Jones is averaging 28 minutes a night, and played in 48 games this year, so this injury could be an anomaly.
It seems the Timberwolves are ready to win now and are willing to sacrifice their future draft picks in order to make sure this happens.
