Milwaukee Bucks Receive: PJ Tucker, 2028 Second-Round Pick (CHI)
This trade would finally resolve the ongoing dispute between James Harden and the 76ers' front office by fulfilling his trade request and sending him to Miami. However, the most notable addition appears to be DeMar DeRozan joining forces with LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
DeRozan was heavily linked with a move to the Lakers in the summer of 2021, with DeMar himself stating that he thought it was a "done deal." The signing eventually fell through when the Lakers opted instead to trade for Russell Westbrook. With the Bulls looking to move either DeRozan or LaVine in the coming months, it seems that California native DeRozan may have another chance to play for his childhood team, the Lakers.
Although DeRozan may not have had great success as a team's leading offensive option so far in his career, he has established himself as one of the most consistent scorers of the past decade. He highlights this with his impressive mid-range game, which could be especially deadly if used as the third weapon behind Anthony Davis and LeBron James. Tran himself mentions this in his latest NBA column and highlights it as a possible motivation for the Lakers to pursue this move.
