$29.7 Million Dollar Player to get Bought Out if not Traded at Deadline

The trade deadline in most sports, is some of the most dramatic times of the year. Who will get traded? What blockbusters will happen? What trade will change the balance of power in the NBA each year? Sometimes it is the exact opposite, where a trade cannot be made, due to various reasons, whether that be due to injury history, to high of an asking price, or a player's contract.

That seems to be the case with Charlotte Hornets newly acquired Kyle Lowry. Lowry was acquired by the Hornets last month as part of the Terry Rozier deal. Charlotte has no intentions of paying him his high salary and will buy him out if they cannot find a trade partner before Thursday's deadline.

If a buyout happens there are a few teams that would line up to sign him. The Lakers, Magic and Sixers are those teams. The Sixers are currently in a holding pattern due to the pending surgery to Joel Embiid and not knowing how long he will be out. Only time will tell, but teams may just wait for the buyout to happen instead of giving up assets to trade for Lowry's services.
