Significant Announcement for Vince Carter
At NBA's All-Star weekend on Friday night, Vince Carter and Chauncey Billups were announced as two of the 14 finalists for the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame's class of 2024.
Carter, who spent 22 years in the NBA playing for seven different teams, earned eight All-Star selections during his career, primarily with the Toronto Raptors and New Jersey Nets. He is widely recognized for his impressive performance in the 2000 dunk contest and concluded his career ranked among the top 25 all-time scorers in NBA history."Unbelievable, I loved to play, more than anything. It wasn't about the numbers. I was asked probably five years prior to retiring, ‘Why are you still playing? You're killing your average.' And I said, ‘But I still love to play.' And that's what mattered," Carter informed ESPN.
Billups, presently coaching the Portland Trail Blazers, enjoyed a 17-season stint across seven teams. He notably contributed to the Detroit Pistons' 2004 championship victory and earned five All-Star selections during his career.
