VIDEO: Kyrie Irving Was Shocked After A Reporter Asked If LeBron James Was A Father Figure To Him

Back in 2015, Kyrie Irving was asked by a reporter about his relationship with LeBron James.

"The other day after the Bulls game Tristan called LeBron a great father. What type of parental role has LeBron played for you and your teammates?"

Irving seemed puzzled about the question but still answered the question politely.

"Parental role? I don't know if I can really answer that question. He's been a great leader for us. I have one father, it's my dad Drederick Irving. But for us, in terms of learning the nuances of the game and how to win, how to carry ourselves on and off the court, he's been a really great influence in that role."



Irving and James played three seasons together in Cleveland until the former requested a trade in 2017. Irving was reportedly looking for growth as a player and had to leave James to find himself.

The two played three consecutive NBA Finals series against the Golden State Warriors and won an NBA Championship in 2016.
