Two Superstars are Interested in Joining the Lakers
According to a new report from the Los Angeles Times, both Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan have an interest in joining LeBron James and Anthony Davis at the LA Lakers.
The news about Lowry won't be a surprise since the Lakers attempted a trade for him last season but were unable to come to terms with the Toronto Raptors. Meanwhile, DeRozan is a native of Los Angeles so the thought of him playing for the Lakers makes a lot of sense. It seems unlikely that LA would be able to land both DeRozan and Lowry unless they agreed to be paid way less than they're used to. Additionally, both stars would require sign-and-trade deals to make their trips to LA happen.
Lowry and DeRozan played very well together when they were both on the Toronto Raptors. A year after DeRozan left the team for the San Antonio Spurs, the Raptors won a ring. He is surely looking for a team that can lead him to the Finals.
Currently, Dennis Schroder, Wesley Matthews, Alex Caruso, Jared Dudley, Markieff Morris, Andre Drummond, and Ben McLemore are all unrestricted free agents.
