Toronto Raptors Reject Blockbuster Trade Offer From Philadelphia 76ers
Matt Moore reported earlier on Monday that the Toronto Raptors have rejected an offer sent from the 76ers that would see Ben Simmons move to Toronto in exchange for Kyle Lowry, Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby, and the 4th pick in this year's draft.
An offer like this appears to be a leak from one of the organizations' front offices, as such an egregious offer never had a chance of being accepted by Raptors' GM Masai Ujiri. Philadelphia has repeatedly been cited as wanting an all-star caliber player in exchange for Simmons, but it appears that his value league-wide is nowhere near their asking price.
As we get closer to Thursday's draft, many front offices will begin to leak offers in order to try and manipulate players' values. With a report coming out today regarding the Sixers' inability to reach Simmons for offseason training, his value only appears to be decreasing and it seems unlikely that the Sixers will be able to acquire anywhere near what they think Simmons is currently worth.
