Just a few days into this summer's free-agency period, over $1.5 billion in contracts have been handed out to players around the league.

We will look at the 3 definite winners of this crazy Free Agency period.

The first winner: The Boston Celtics

Coming off a trip to the NBA Finals, Celtics General Manager Brad Stevens, had by far one of the best free agency period between all GMs with acquiring Malcom Brogdon and then signing Danilo Gallinari.

They first acquired Malcolm Brogdon for a first rounder, Daniel Theiss and Aaron Nesmith.

Brogdon joined Marcus Spears and spoke highly of the Celtics.

Brogdon is exactly the type of player the Celtics need, a playmaker guard who can defend at the level the Celtics do. He has a big body and can switch on every screen, he will adapt well to the teams identity.

That move alone would have made the Celtics the winner still, but they werent done. They then added Danilo Gallinari, after he got bought out by the Spurs.

With the addition of these 2 steady players who can play at any time during the game, the Boston Celtics are a serious threat to not only reach the finals but to win it all this time.

The second winner: Los Angeles Clippers

If healthy, the Los Angeles Clippers are coming into next year with a pretty deep squad led by Head Coach Tyrone Lue which includes Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Reggie Jackson, Robert Covington, Nicolas Batum Marcus Morris, Ivica Subac and now the latest signing John Wall.

John Wall was bought out by the Houston Rockets and then went on to sign a 2 year $13.2 Million deal with the Clippers.

Although he doesn't have the same explosiveness as he did earlier in his career, he still has the vision and the passing capabilities that made him once an All Star. In a lineup with Kawhi and Paul George, John Wall wont gather the same attention as he did in Washington, which gives him more space and time with the basketball to make a play.

The Clippers always needed a playmaker to play alongside Kawhi and PG. Injuries aside, if this team can stay healthy, this could be the steal of Free Agency.

The third Winner: Max contracts Superstars!

The NBA was handing out max contracts like its the Oprah Winfrey show. Monsters deals were getting handed out to the NBA superstars. With the TV deal coming into place and the salary cap increasing, some NBA teams decided to splash the money on their superstars. Here are some of the monstrous contracts that were handed out

- Bradley Beal, 5 year $251 Million
- Devin Booker, 4 year $214 Million
- Karl-Anthony Towns, 4 year $224 Million
- Nikola Jokic, 5 year $264 Million
- Zach LaVine, 5 year $215.2 Million
- Ja Morant, 5 year $231 Million
- Zion Williamson, 5 year $193 Million
- Darius Garland, 5 year $193 Million

Heres a graph that just show the progress the NBA has made in its salary cap up until 2019. It will only keep going higher, the NBA is a player driven league and they are the bus drivers.

The NBA market has always been in favour for Max player contracts, especially if the players sign with the same team that drafted them, they can earn much more. Only time will tell if all these players were worth the money handed out.
