Suns Release Update on Dario Saric Injury
The Phoenix Suns have revealed that backup center Dario Saric tore his ACL in game one of the NBA Finals and will be out indefinitely. Although no timetable for his return has been set, he will certainly be absent for the rest of the season and probably for the beginning of next season too.
Saric hurt himself late in the first quarter Tuesday night during a drive to the basket. After some limping, Saric returned to the locker room and was not on the floor after that. The Suns would go on to win the game 116-105 and take a 1-0 lead in the Finals.
The 27-year-old Saric hasn't been a major difference-maker for the Suns but he has definitely given them some good assistance, putting up an average of 4.5 points per game with 2.5 rebounds. He has mostly been playing as Deandre Ayton's backup, a role that will now go to Frank Kaminsky.
