Stephen A. Smith: Kristaps Porzingis 'Jealous of Luka Doncic and Resentful'

Luka Doncic just had an incredible season of basketball. The Dallas Mavericks superstar closed the season by scoring an average of 35 points, 10 assists, and 7 rebounds a game. In the end, it wasn't enough to take down the Los Angeles Clippers but Luka proved - again - that he is easily one of the best players in the association and deserves every bit of praise he gets.

But is that praise ruffling the feathers of his teammate? According to the latest rumors, fellow Mav Kristaps Porzingis is getting "jealous" of Doncic.


Doncic's star has been rising as Porzingis's has been falling, you can understand why the big man would be jealous of his peer. However, the best thing he can do in this situation is step up his own game and support Luka and the entire team. Porzingis has had a rough couple of seasons but he is still young, relatively healthy, and capable of making a strong comeback. He hasn't really found a way to fit with Luka's play style and that has caused problems on the court and constant rumors of Porzginis being traded.


All of that noise can be silenced if Porzingis and his coaches find a suitable way for him to really play well alongside Luka. If they were both performing at their peaks, the rest of the NBA would be in a lot of trouble.
