Spencer Dinwiddie Made a Bold Claim About Lakers And Heat: "They're The Ones Tampering..."
The NBA has opened up investigations into possible tampering violations involving two sign-and-trade deals completed in free agency. The Chicago Bulls on Lonzo Ball sign-and-trade and the Miami Heat with Kyle Lowry.
The NBA has a maximum tampering fine of $10M for teams. There will be also suspension of executives, forfeiture of draft picks and voiding of contracts if the team was proved to be tampering.Team execs can also have their communications – such as phone records, texts and emails – randomly audited.
Last year, the Bucks have lost their 2022 second round draft pick after the Bogdan Bogdanovic sign-and-trade deal with the Bucks. The deal was rescinded and in the end Bogdanovic went to sign with the Atlanta Hawks.
The Bucks violated the league rules governing the timing of the season's free agency discussion.
This season, teams both the Heat and Bulls were both involved for a possible tampering violations involving their offseason moves.
But New Wizards point guard Spencer Dinwiddie called out the Heat and surprisingly the Lakers for tampering issues.
"Before free agency would be tampering bro. What you talking about? Listen, the Lakers, Toronto, Heat... They're the ones that are tampering. No tampering here."
The Lakers one is different because Westbrook wasn't a free agent coming to the Lakers.
But back in 2017, the Lakers were fined $500,000 for VP Rob Pelinka talking to then free agent Paul George before the official start of NBA free agency.
