Shanon Sharpe on Lebron's future with the Lakers and the only term he thinks Lebron should sign under.
Arguably the worlds biggest Lebron fan was speaking on his tv show sitting across Lebron's biggest hater, Skip Bayless, on the Lakers star's future.
He says
"When you get LeBron James, you know what the stakes are. ... ‘Look, you already wasted one of my years, you wasted one. I gave you a grace period ‘cause when I first signed here I didn't say you had to make any other move. I played with what we had. You didn't make any move.' He played with the kids. ‘Hey, I'm done with that.' This is the only leverage LeBron has. I believe he will sign the contract only when he believes Rob Pelinka, only when he believes the Lakers have done their due diligence and everything they possibly can to make this a championship-contending team. I think, deep down inside, I don't think LeBron believes this is a championship-contending team as is currently constructed.»
So far Lebron has played 4 years with the Lakers since joining them in 2018. After winning the title just 1 year later in the bubble, the Lakers have been playing below their standards. Now that of course is due to injuries, fatigue, a high roster turnover and of course age.
Lebron, entering his 20th season has no time to waste and is looking to win another championship.
He has made it clear that he's all in right now and doesn't give a damn about the future draft picks the Lakers have. He has been pushing for the Lakers to trade these picks and land Kyrie Irving.
