REPORT: Sixers Reject Blockbuster Ben Simmons Trade Offer From Pacers
The Philadelphia 76ers reportedly turned down a significant trade offer from the Indiana Pacers for guard Ben Simmons.
According to Jason Dumas of Kron4 News and Bleacher Report, the 76ers already fielded offers for Ben Simmons and they've recently rejected a trade offer from the Pacers. The deal would send of Ben Simmons to Indiana for Malcolm Brogdon and a first-round pick.Simmons had a forgettable postseason performance this year although he made the all star this season. The 6'10 playmaker and defensive wingman averaged just 11.9 points to go along with 8.8 assists and 7.9 rebounds in 12 games he played in the playoffs this year. He shot just 34% of his free-throw attempts and made a record with most missed free throw attempts by an NBA player in a single postseason. The Australian guard just knocked down only 25 of 73 shots from the line.
Brogdon meanwhile, averaged 21.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.9 assists on 45/39/86 shooting splits. Simmons is 3 and a half years younger than Brogdon and still has a lot of potential.
Simmons was reportedly going to skip the Tokyo Olympics for Australia late this July to focus on his player development.
The Sixers might've accepted the offer if it includes Caris LeVert. But with their rejecttion of this offer from Indiana, it just proves that they still see a lot of potential in Simmons.
