Dennis Schroder has yet to sign an NBA contract and finding a team that would offer him at least the same amount the Lakers had offered him last season.

Schroder bet on himself and turned down a a 4-year $84 million contract extension from the Lakers midway last season.

A source told Mark Murphy of Boston Herald that Schroder is looking for a one-year deal.

"He's only interested in one year, and then getting back out there,' said the source, who added that Schroder has also run into another problem — the sudden lack of available starting point guard jobs," Murphy reported.

"The Celtics have pitched Schroder the idea of backing up Marcus Smart next season," Murphy wrote.

"'He needs time — I think he's in a state of shock because of what he's done,' the source said of Schroder turning down a four-year, $84 million offer last season from the Lakers, who responded by trading for Russell Westbrook."

Schroder averaged 15.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 5.8 assists last season on a 44/34/85 shooting splits. His free agency value went down after having a poor performance in the first round of playoffs against the Phoenix Suns

Schroder was reportedly in talks with the Boston Celtics for a low contract worth $5.9 million.
